At long last the necessary planning application to the local council is under way. So we should soon be able to start building the biggest and best club site of it's kind in the UK. We have all sorts of things planned for our combat zone/proving ground which will include a timed competition course with prizes at the end of the year for members who have put up the best time negotiating it with their models. There will be different categories for the various model types and sizes.

The site will be developed over the next year or more to include various bridges, underpasses, hill climbs and lots of lumps and bumps to negotiate.
We will also be improving the area where our club room is situated to make an outside seating and BBQ area for the summer. Tea, coffee and biscuits are always available for members and visitors free of charge. There will also be facilities for on-site battery charging and model repairs as well as free car parking.

So our club is now able to accept applications for new members, though there will have to be an upper limit as it is no fun standing around for an hour or more waiting time when the RC channel you use is free for you to use your models on. A regular occurrence with RC aircraft clubs when there are more members than channels, all awaiting a flight.

So get your application in NOW before it's too late!!

There will be lots of such obstacles for you to attempt with your models.

Proper, and stronger, 'permanent' bridges will be built at a later date.

Our thanks to all members who will help with this stage of the new site construction.
